Virtual Dye class for people who want to dye their own yarn but not buy lots of special equipment. Dye class will use food safe dye kit that can be used in household pots with out concern. All dyes could be used for food if desired after class. Class includes 5 colour dye kit and 5 merino mini skeins.

You will get a Red, Green, Yellow and Blue all in cool printers colours in 56ml bottle that are at 2% dyestock strength and a small black eye dropper bottle that is at 5% dye stock. Each Bottle can make 560ml dye stock bottle at 2% dye strength, but the black can be used in drops as it is very intense.

We will start out learning to measure the dye into stock - so you will need some jars at least 500ml that you will use to make your dye stock. Then we will learn best dye practices and we can dye some yarns either in gradients or mixed colours. We will discuss both types of dyeing.

Students will also get a set of 5 mini merino fingering skiens. Also if you have wool skeins or fibre at home you want to practice dyeing with that is ok too! Also sampling lengths of yarn will be included.
