Welcome to 3dogknits!

Hi – glad you have found me!

I’m Jane of 3dogknits Fibre Arts. 3dogknits Fibre Arts is an online yarn and fibre site and shop. I live in Central Ontario, near Muskoka on Georgian Bay. Living with my husband of many years and my 3 dogs, Gypsy, Bogey and Gimli, we live close to the Bay and, although it is beautiful, it is also a challenge as our weather is in constant flux.

I am a mother of 4 and grandmother of 4! Life has always been kind to me and I feel very fortunate to be able to have creative fun now after spending many years working in the high tech industry near Toronto.

I am often seen in the Spring, Summer and Fall on my back-porch sorting bags of fleece for washing or hanging yarns to be dried after dyeing.

I sell fine hand-dyed yarns and fibres from my home and in two LYS shops in Ontario. You will find the yarns and fibres I dye in my shop here (www.3dogknits.ca) or at Spun Fibre Arts (www.spunfibrearts.com)  in Oakville or the Purple Sock (https://www.facebook.com/thepurplesock/) in Coldwater, Ontario.

The picture on the main page is yarn I spun from some Cheviot fleece. I fell in love with the colour and it makes me smile when I see it!

I have completed the OHS Spinning Certificate Program via Haliburton School of Arts and Design. Now that I am done, I will be progressing to enjoing the fibre world with abandon, joy, making, dyeing, and teaching a variety of textile/fibre arts.

As well as being an indie dyer, I also teach classes on Hand spinning (using spindles and/or wheels), knitting, weaving and dyeing. Please check the classes page for my offerings. If you are  interested in learning to spin you can contact me directly at jane@3dogknits.ca and we can arrange private classes if there are no classes happening near you that fit your schedule. Currently, during the COVID-19 Shelter-At-Home requirements, we can do this online via live video communications.

Thank you for finding my little yarn shop on the big wide internet! I hope you find something of interest for you here. I am always available to discuss any of your yarn or fibre requirements and to help you learn a new skill.

Hope we talk soon!

Jane
