In this workshop, we will explore how to best use a supported spindle. This workshop is for new supported spinners or people who are struggling with their supported spindle and want to become more comfortable using their spindle.

Included in this workshop is a spindle, a spindle bowl and fibre to spin with. Participants will be able to try out several different spindles and spindle bowls to see which one they’re most comfortable with.

We will practice in the workshop learning to flick your spindle, attaching fibre to your spindle, drafting out your fibre and winding your fibre onto your spindle.

When participants leave this three hour workshop, they should feel comfortable with using their spindle and able to continue spindling on their own. Each participant will leave with a spindle, a bowl and fiber, as well as some written instructions to take with them to continue their practice.

The instructor will always be available to answer questions and demonstrate online afterwards, if the participant needs it.
